How to Install Clip-In Extensions: The blūm Way

• Rat-tail comb
• Hair clips (alligator clips work great!)

Prep Time:

Before we start, make sure your hair is clean and dry. Sort your blūm clip-ins by size - this will keep you organized as you install them.

Step-by-Step Guide

• Start at the nape of your neck. Use your fingers or a tail comb to separate a horizontal section of hair a few inches up.
• Clip the rest of your hair out of the way.

• Choose your first blūm clip-in (usually a wider piece for the back).
• Open the clips and press them into your sectioned hair, right at the roots. Give your extension a gentle tug to make sure it's secure. It should feel snug but comfortable.

• Release a bit more of your natural hair and create another horizontal section about an inch above your first clip-in.
• Repeat the process and clip in your next piece.

• Continue this process, working your way up the back of your head. When you reach the sides, switch to your smaller blūm clip-ins.
• Pro Tip: At the crown and edges, decide how much of your natural hair you plan to leave out. Use smaller clip-ins to blend underneath your leave-out.

• Decide how much leave-out you'd like at the top of your head and section it off from your braids.
• Place your blūm clip-ins on top of your braids, starting from the nape and working up.
