Protecting Your Natural Hair: When your extensions match your texture, there's less risk of damage or breakage caused by over-styling and/ or manipulation.

Versatile Styling: Natural hair extensions offer the freedom to experiment with a wide range of styles without putting excessive strain on your hair. This means you can switch up your look as often as you like, while still maintaining the health and integrity of your natural hair.

Hair Extension Aftercare

Now, let's talk about how to keep your extensions looking fresh.

Washing Your Extensions

Reminder: Be gentle when washing your extensions. Always use a sulfate-free shampoo and nourishing conditioner.
● Fill your sink or tub with enough water to submerge your blūm hair.
● Apply a generous amount of shampoo to your blūm bundles. Work the product into the hair gently while maintaining a downward motion.
● Focus on detangling the ends of your blūm hair with your fingers and avoid rubbing the extensions too harshly.
● Once detangled with your fingers, gently use a wide tooth comb to get any remaining tangles out.
● Once completely detangled, submerge the hair into the sink/ tub of warm water and rinse the product out. Drain the water and rinse the hair under warm running water.
● For severe product buildup, you may need to do a second round of shampooing.
● Apply a generous amount of conditioner to your blūm bundles. Work the product into the hair gently while maintaining a downward motion. Rinse conditioner out with warm running water.
● Once hair is completely detangled, washed, and conditioned- rinse hair under cool running tap water to seal the cuticles of the hair.

Drying Your Extensions:

● Gently squeeze excess water from the extensions, avoiding rubbing or wringing.
● Lay flat and air-dry your extensions whenever possible. If you're in a rush, you can use a low-heat setting on your blow dryer to expedite the drying time. (Use a diffuser, when possible.)
● Avoid sleeping with wet extensions, as this can lead to tangling and matting.
Styling Your Extensions
● Apply a light mist of water, leave-in conditioner, and an oil or cream to keep your extensions moisturized.
● When using heat styling tools, always apply a heat protectant and use the lowest setting possible.

Maintaining Your Extensions

● Properly store your extensions when not in use. Once fully dry, we recommend using your blūm Beauty Tote and blūm Beauty Clutch to store them.

● Avoid sleeping in your extensions, which can cause tension and breakage to your own natural hair.

Remember, blūm is here to help you with every step, from choosing the perfect extensions to keeping them looking their best.
